FR No. 2o is due to leave Locomotion temporarily in May 2010. First stop is the Great Central Railway for the "Golden Oldies" event - appearing alongside replicas of even older engines - the NRM's replica of Stephenson's "Rocket" and the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry's "Planet".FR20 is planned to be in steam at the GCR on May 29th, 30th and 31st. After Loughborough, FR20 moves to Beamish in County Durham for the months of June and July where it will be reunited with the FRT's Great Eastern Railway Royal Saloon once this celebrity coach's overhaul is complete. Steaming dates at Beamish have yet to be announced. Then FR20 makes the long journey south to star at the Bluebell Railway's 50th birthday party in August. The Bluebell is Britain's oldest standard gauge heritage railway, and the loco crew volunteers there voted FR 20 their number one choice for visiting engine for the party! Following the Bluebell Gala, FR20 is due to return north to complete the year back at Locomotion. Note that whilst FR20 is at Locomotion, it is available for driver experience coureses - please contact Locomotion for more details. |
