Trains run daily from 31st March until 28th October 2007.

In addition there are a number of special events lined up -- including the Steam Gala Weekend, starring the FRT's very own Furness Railway Number 20 and GWR tank engine 5643, plus the Victorian Evenings hauled by FR Number 20, and the Santa Specials.

(A) operates 27th May to 3rd June & 22nd July to 31st August and may be diesel hauled .

All trains in this timetable connect at Lakeside station with steamers operated by Windermere Lake Cruises.
The last train to allow you to complete a round trip to Ambleside is the 13.00 departure from Haverthwaite. (14.05 train when (A) is running).
The last train to allow you to complete a round trip to Bowness is the 14.05 departure from Haverthwaite. (15.10 train when (A) is running).
The last boat returning to Bowness and Ambleside leaves Lakeside at 16.50. There is no later sailing north, even when train (A) is running.

Child Fare applies for ages 5 - 15 inclusive. Under 5s travel free. Family ticket is for 2 adults and up to 3 children. The railway is a working environment: please ensure children are supervised at all times. The L&HR welcomes well-behaved dogs, but please, not on the carriage seats!

Prices and timetable information are subject to alteration without notice. Under normal circumstances the trains are steam hauled. The Furness Railway Trust publishes this timetable here on behalf of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway Company Ltd, and the neither body can accept any liability for any inaccuracy. Steamers may be substituted by a motor launch.

Special Trains and Events for 2007

Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends Weekends: March 24th & 25th, November 3rd & 4th
Fun and games for all the family, with Thomas and friends. Special ticket prices apply.

Easter Egg Weekend: April 7th, 8th & 9th
A cream egg for all children travelling with a fare-paying adult.

Pensioners Days: May 4th, 11th & 18th, October 1st, 8th & 15th
A special return fare of £2.25 for all over-60s.

Mixed traction gala weekend: May 19th & 20th
See steam and diesel engines working together. Regular service trains hauled by locomotives chosen from our steam and diesel fleet, with priority being given to the Trust's Great Western Railway 0-6-2T Number 5643, the ex-British Railways Fairburn steam locomotives 42085 and 42073, and mainline diesels 20 214 and D5301 (Class 26). The normal timetable will be in operation, with trains connecting with the Windermere Steamers.

Single and double headed journeys with the ex-British Railways Fairburn steam locomotives 42085 and 42073.

The Victorian EveningsFR20 in action on the Victorian EveningsVictorian Evenings: July 31st, August 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th
These special trains are run after the end of the regular daily service, and are hauled by Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam engine, Furness Railway Number 20. Travel to Lakeside - including a photo stop at Newby Bridge, before enjoying a cruise on Windermere aboard the FR built steamer MV Tern, and return behind FR20 to Haverthwaite.

Advance bookings essential to ensure a seat - the first fifty bookings for each night reserve a seat in the 19th century North London carriage at the front of the train. Call 015395 31594.

Special ticket prices apply: Adults £12.50, Children £6.25 (prices held from last year!). Trains depart at 18.45 from Haverthwaite, where the station tea room will remain open until 19.00 for a special two course pre-train meal - £8.50 per person, bookings also essential. Also light snacks, teas, coffees, beers, wines and spirits available.

Steam to Stream Weekend: September 22nd & 23rd
For one weekend only, travel on the train and visit the Aquarium of the Lakes at Lakeside with a special joint ticket. Adult £9.45 Child £5.65.

Ghost Train: October 28th
The final day of the L&HR regular season, and it's nearly Hallowe'en! Trains all day will have an enchanted theme but will you be brave enough to travel on the final departure, the Ghost Train, leaving from Haverthwaite at 16.15??!
Booking is essential to ensure a seat. Call 015395 31594. Special ticket prices: Adults £5.90, Children £3.45.

Diesel Gala Weekend: November 10th & 11th
Travel to and Lakeside hauled by locomotives chosen from classes 03, LMS-designed 08 predecessor, 20, 26 and 110 D.M.U. A demonstration freight train will also run.

Santa Specials: 1/2/8/9/15/16 December
A Christmas treat for all the family! Join Father Christmas and his helpers on a magical journey to Lakeside. Presents for the children, Christmas cake and seasonal drink for the adults. Carols and a good time for everyone!
All Santa specials board at Haverthwaite Station only, trains departing at 10.30, 12.30, and 14.30. The round trip takes one and a half hours.
Special ticket prices apply: £12.00 per person (Adults and Children). Advance booking is absolutely essential as trains sell out well in advance. The Booking office and phone lines open for the Santa Specials at 09.00 on 29th October 2007. Please have credit/debit card, Child's name and age, number of adults and contact details ready when booking.
