The engine had started 2007 at Llangollen Railway, and had two brief visits home to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite line either side of a trip to South Wales and the Barry Island Railway, and the East Lancashire Railway. After a month at the North Norfolk Railway, and a return to Llangollen, it then moved to the Great Central Railway at Loughborough. Now back in North Wales, 5643 is spending much of 2008 there. |

5643 has a major booking with the Llangollen Railway for 2008. However it is possible that it can be made available for short-term hire during the year. The North Norfolk Railway has now agreed to hire 5643 for around one month from mid-late August, to include a starring appearance at the Poppy Line's Steam Gala for the second year running. This Steam Gala takes place on 29-31 August, with up to five steam locomotives in action. Final dates for the period of this hire are still to be confirmed. |
